University of Tampa: The Move-Out Challenge
University of Tampa: The Move-Out Challenge
UT’s downtown location is a double-edged sword for move-out. While the Riverwalk and Plant Hall are gorgeous, getting a moving truck into the campus core is a nightmare — box trucks are banned from campus between 7am–7pm on designated move-in and move-out days. Parking is limited. Elevators back up. And the official deadline is firm: all residents must vacate by Saturday, May 9 at 11am, or 24 hours after their last exam, whichever comes first.
What makes UT unique: A significant portion of UT students are out-of-state and international — many from New England, New York, and overseas. Flying home with dorm items isn’t realistic. DormRoomBoxes removes that entire equation. We pick up, we store, we deliver. You fly home with your laptop and your sanity.
Important note: UT currently has a partnership with Collegeboxes for on-campus pickup. DormRoomBoxes offers an independent alternative — we can pick up from your room outside the Collegeboxes windows, we cover off-campus UT housing, and we deliver to any Florida address in the fall, not just back to UT. Check both options and choose what works best for your situation.

Dorm Room Boxes vs. Alternatives at University of Tampa
Why UT Students Prefer DormRoomBoxes
University of Tampa students are busy, ambitious, and often far from home. Here’s why dorm-to-dorm storage makes sense for the UT lifestyle:
You’re from out of state
Nearly half of UT students come from outside Florida. Shipping everything home for summer is expensive and exhausting. We store it all locally in Tampa for a fraction of the cost of shipping or flying with extra luggage.
UT’s campus is tight
Box trucks banned during move-out hours, limited parking, and busy elevators mean DIY moving at UT is a logistical headache. We know the campus restrictions and time everything to avoid them.
You’re moving off-campus next year
Many UT sophomores move into Hyde Park, Riverside, or downtown Tampa apartments for their second year. We can deliver your stored items directly to your new off-campus address — not just back to a dorm.
Your parents can’t fly down
Parents based in New York, Massachusetts, or overseas shouldn’t have to book a flight just to help you move out. DormRoomBoxes is your local solution — parents pay online, we handle the physical work.
Simple, Transparent Pricing
We price by the box and by the item — no surprise charges, no hourly rates, no ‘we’ll tell you the final price after pickup.’ You know exactly what you’re paying before we arriv
