We deliver boxes to your dorm room door
Your order arrives with: double-walled moving boxes (standard and large), a roll of packing tape, fragile stickers, and labeled address tags for each box. Everything you need — nothing more.
Pack at your own pace
Start packing early or wait until after your last final — we work around your schedule. Heavier items go in smaller boxes. Label fragile items. Our packing guide (included) has tips specific to dorm rooms.

Additional Services
Free featured dates are provided based on the academic calendar and the demand on the campus. Dates outside of those are an additional charge. To view the dates and their respective pricing, Get started or login and enter your campus.
Our movers can pack your items using industry best practices to safely store your items on select campuses.
All you need to do is print labels from your account and attach them to your boxes. Our movers will collect the boxes, and have them shipped out for you. Shipping of items that are already placed into storage will incur Additional Warehouse Labor charge.
Boxes over 65 lbs may be subject to a charge of $30. Avoid this by splitting up the heavy items, like books, among your boxes.
If your delivery destination is outside of a 10 mile radius from your campus, it is $10 per mile. In the instance that you're transferring to a new school or moving far, we can ship your boxes too and you just have to pay for the freight and $18/box handling.

- Cancellations for pickups or deliveries on dates other than our free featured dates will be refunded in full if cancelled in advance of 2 business days for pickups and 3 business days for deliveries.
- Pickup/delivery fees greater than $100 will be granted a partial refund of any amount in excess of $100 if cancelled/rescheduled 1 business day before a pickup or 1-2 business days before a delivery. (i.e if a fee is $199 and cancelled the day before, $99 will be refunded)
- Cancellation or rescheduling on the day of the move will incur a $30 cancellation fee and will not be refunded for any fees for special date booking.
If you need us to discard your items we can handle that for you - $30/item.
If your fridge is frosted and full we will need to empty and defrost it for you to ensure it doesn't get moldy in storage - $50
We can also store items that don’t fit into boxes, we know those need storage too!

Frequently Asked Questions
Most students need between 8 and 15 standard boxes for a typical single or double dorm room, plus 1–3 large boxes for bedding/pillows, and 1–3 bulky items (mini-fridge, TV, desk chair). When in doubt, order a couple extra — you can always use fewer and we'll only charge for what we pick up.
No problem. If you end up with more boxes than your original estimate, we charge for the extras at the same per-box rate. Just let us know before pickup so we bring the right size vehicle.
Yes. Most orders include a mix of standard boxes (books, clothes, kitchen) and large boxes (bedding, bulky items). When you book, estimate how many of each size you'll need — or just estimate total boxes and we'll figure out the breakdown together.
All items stored with DormRoomBoxes are covered by our storage insurance policy. If a box or its contents are damaged while in our care, we'll make it right. Photograph high-value items before packing as a precaution — and use our included fragile stickers on anything breakable.
We include pre-printed address labels with every order. Write your name, school, and a basic description on each box (e.g., "KITCHEN — box 1 of 2"). Use our fragile stickers on anything breakable. If you have specific delivery instructions for the fall (e.g., specific dorm room, floor, etc.) note it on the label.
Bulky items like TVs and mini-fridges are stored individually, not stacked inside boxes. We use protective padding and dedicated shelving in our facility. These are priced separately from standard boxes — see our pricing section above.
We specialize in storage-and-return-to-Florida service. If you need to ship items to an out-of-state address, we can discuss options, though this is outside our standard service. For most out-of-state students, our Florida summer storage is actually cheaper than shipping items back and forth.
